Presented at London Fashion Week

KALANTA – The House Awakens is shaped by the house's founding trilogy of ideas – Protection, Air, and Identity. Capes function as modern armor, framing the body with quiet authority, while embroidered vines and climbing leaves trace the silhouette with a sense of movement and breath, inspired by the gesture of Indian hand-fans. Custom Banarasi zari woven with the house insignia grounds the collection in heritage and precision, while velvet adds depth and sensuality. Embroidery is engineered into the structure of each garment, placed with the intention of jewellery against the skin, drawing from traditions of Indian adornment where ornament defines identity and narrative. Sculpted tailoring meets fluid drape, balancing weight with air and restraint with richness, as floral motifs suggest growth and lineage, a house that evolves rather than remains fixed.
Khushi Kumar approaches Indian craft as a living vocabulary refined for a global context, where tradition is not replicated but translated. 
The House awakens not as a place, but as a presence carried by the woman who inhabits it.
